A two member delegation from Datalink Institute an affiliate of KNUST, has paid a brief visit to KNUST. The delegation was made up of Prof. Rose Joshua and Mrs. Ingrid Ansah. The visit was in connection with a Nursing Programme that is yet to be mounted at Datalink institute.
In a presentation made by Prof. Rose Joshua, President of Datalink Institute, she stressed the fact that the visit was to strengthen the relationship between Datalink Institute and KNUST. She proceeded to elaborate on their intent for running the nursing programme, and said that, they would like to share the KNUST curriculum. She also admitted that due to this fact, there will be the need to expand infrastructure to help accommodate the said intention. In her presentation, Prof. Rose did not hesitate to state that a loan of $3.5 million had been acquired from UNIBANK to start the project. She further explained that with respect to running the nursing programme, efforts were being made towards acquiring an accreditation from the National Accreditation Board (NAB).
The KNUST Officials present were the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. W.O.Ellis; Registrar, Kobby-Yebo Okrah; the Provost, College of Health Sciences and the Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. They commended both delegates for such a good intention and affirmed the university’s support to the Datalink Institute, provided they are able to meet the requirements of the University. He also advised that much effort should be put in securing accreditation from the National Accreditation Board. It was agreed that a committee should be formed by both parties to enable them work hand in hand to make this mission accomplished.
